So... Thursday night I get the chance to go out and have some adult female bonding time. A.K.A. a 31 party.
After the party when spent time just chatting and catching up since this was a bunch of us from school and haven't seen each other in what.... 3 weeks. LOL
Anyways, I come home around 10:30ish. After I am home DH tells me how second oldest DD puts together this car type toy for grandson's birthday coming up. I was impressed and was asking where it was... His response, "you had to pass in coming in the house. You didn't see it? It is rather big."
Umm... yeah... I will have to mark that up as a big old fail in the "being aware of my surroundings" training. I walked right past this and did not realize it AT ALL!
I could try and say "but it was dark," or "I was at home," but either one don't cut it. Because when it comes down to the nitty gritty, I was lazy and I was stupid and I could have gotten myself hurt or killed.
Lesson learned...... Know what it going on!!!!!! AT ALL TIMES!!!

Bullet Talk
Sitting outside as my DH and our neighbor talking about reloading and differences between brands. It sounds like Greek to me! LOL
I want to learn more about it, but with my classes going on I don't think I can take on learning about reloading right now. :( Glad DH knows this stuff.

Necessity is the mother of invention!
I found this article through VCDL's newsletter and just had to share!
Roanoke Business Woman Invents Gun Holster Apron
I am sorry she had to go through the experience she did that spark this invention, but at least something good came from her ordeal!

It was VERY busy at the range today!
I guess the beautiful weather brought out the crowds. Really a bit too crowded for my tastes, but did manage to get in some magazine changing drills in with decent accuracy. :-)
I do want to post a picture from two weeks ago. I decided to "splurge" and get some zombie themed targets which the kids loved.
I do have to say that I don't believe I will need to worry if the zombies ever come my area. LOL

Tactical Strategies Invading
my dreams! LOL
I had some sort of zombie type dream this morning and the most I could remember after I woke up was that where we had chosen to stand our ground and fight was not the best to defend and not let them over power us.
I kept thinking of ways that it could have been improved. My goodness my thought processes have changed. :)

Better late than never.... Review of MagTech First Defense
I received an email a couple of months ago asking me if I would review some ammo on my blog if they sent it to me. I thought about it for a few moments and then thought “why not.” LOL
The ammo I tried was Magtech First Defense Justice 9mm - +P - 92.6 gr SCHP. What I normally have loaded in my carry piece 115 grain defensive rounds. I did take about 10 rounds of those to shoot so that I would know how they felt when shot, but had not shot any in awhile.
When I first got to the range, I put 5 rounds of the Magtech into a magazine and let it go. I liked it. I shot a nice 3 inch grouping and felt that was a good start! LOL
To truly compare this ammo to what I carry I decided to fill a magazine with both types of bullets. Alternating them so that I could compare them easier. (I really impressed myself with that idea, so be gentle if that is not the correct way to compare them! :-) ) I could tell the difference between the two, but I did not feel that it was a very noticeable difference. The force with which the bullet left the gun was what I noticed the most, but nothing that would hinder my performance on the range or heaven forbid, off the range. I detected a tad more recoil, but my accuracy was a fraction better with the 92 grains. Now, that could have been because I was shooting these first and my arm was not fatigued yet, but we will go with the grain difference. I ended up shooting the whole box of 20 that day. Of course, anyone that spends time at the range knows that shooting 20 bullets takes a matter of seconds. I took my time and judged how they felt. I liked the Magtech and feel that their prices are reasonable. ($23.00 per box, but with discounts on larger orders.)
Will I order any of these from luckygunner.com? I can not answer that at this time because I have a nice local source from my carry ammo at a decent price. I will say that if I ever need to start ordering ammo, I will look at luckygunner.com before I order to see what they have to offer.
I know I have not done the best to accurately describe this ammo, but I will say that if you are thinking of order this ammo, I believe you will be happy with your purchase.

Gonna Challenge Myself
I am going to try and post at least 15 times this month. I should be able to do it. :)
I am not sure if they will all be gun related, but I will see what happens.
