At this range, you can become a member or pay hourly. Today we just paid for an hour of range time. Neighbor rented a 100 yard lane for his rifle, while DH and I got a 25 yard one for our handguns.
First off.... it is beautiful inside. Nice and open. The ladies at the front reception area was very pleasant, friendly, and knowledgeable. We all registered without any issues, paid our one-time initiation fees to shoot there, and watched their short training/procedures video.
After the video, which was less than 10 minutes long and just went over their safety rules and regulations. We went over to the counter area that rents the lanes. Our friend wanting the 100 yard lane had to wait about 20 minutes for his, but one was open immediately for us. I also love that they have a sink area right where you come out of the lanes. This makes washing up after shooting easier. Over all we really enjoyed it, and are seriously contemplating joining. The only negative about our day was the gentleman helping us get our lane. There was a moment where DH was going to get our gear out of the car and I was asking him something and at the same time I was trying to work with the gentlemen. He asked me something and I took a moment to sort out what to say and he says "are you out of your element?" like being at a range is alien to me! It took every ounce of self control not to let him know what my "element" was, but I wasn't sure if we were going to want to come back again and did not want to cause a scene. Let's just say that if anyone else there acts that way, I will not hold back. I do not take kindly to men assuming because I am female that shooting is not something I know about. Especially in this day and age of shooting!
Over all a great place, and one I plan to visit again soon. Hopefully I will be able to blog about it also.
